Noida: A 37-year-old woman allegedly jumped with her 11-year-old son from the balcony of their 13th-floor flat at Ace City in Greater Noida West on Saturday. Both died on the spot. Police said the child was suffering from a neurodevelopmental disorder and was under medication. A note left behind by the woman indicated that she was overwhelmed by stress and took the extreme step.According to police, the child's father, a chartered accountant, was in another room of the house while his son was taking a walk on the balcony with his mother. Around 10am, he heard a scream and rushed to the balcony only to see his wife and son lying on the ground. Police and emergency services reached the spot soon after and sent the bodies for autopsy.Cops said the note written by the woman, and addressed to her husband, said they did not want to trouble him anymore, and no one was responsible for their deaths. "Information received so far indicates the mother was extremely anxious about the boy," said Shavya Goyal, additional DCP, central Noida. An officer from Bisrakh police station said, "According to the sequence pieced together so far, the father had asked his wife to give medicine to their son around 9 am. After administering it, she took him to the balcony. Minutes later, both fell to their death."In her note, the woman wrote to her husband, "We are leaving this world... Sorry. We do not want to trouble you anymore. Your life should not be ruined because of us. No one is responsible for our death." Neighbours told police that the child had been undergoing treatment for a developmental condition for a long time. He did not attend school and was heavily dependent on medicines.Police said handwriting analysis of the note and statements of relatives and society residents are being collected to rule out other possibilities.
