Ranchi, Sep 13 (UNI) With Durga Puja festivities approaching, Ranchi district administration and police are on high alert to ensure peaceful and orderly celebrations. A meeting of the Central Peace Committee was held on Saturday chaired by Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri and Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kumar Sinha. The meeting saw participation from various Puja committees, peace committee members, social organizations, and administrative officials. The primary objective of the meeting was to ensure Durga Puja is celebrated in a peaceful, organized, and harmonious environment. Puja committees raised issues regarding cleanliness, uninterrupted power and water supply, deployment of women police personnel, parking arrangements, barricading of pandals, and availability of vehicles for idol immersion. DC Bhajantri directed that all pandals must obtain NOCs after checking wiring, electric load, and fire safety. Installation of CCTV cameras, mandatory uniforms and ID cards for volunteers, and police presence during immersion were made compulsory. He stressed zero tolerance against anti-social elements, regulated use of loudspeakers and DJs, and prohibition of objectionable songs. Committees ensuring the best coordination and safety will be honored by the administration. SSP Sinha described Puja committees as the "eyes, ears, and feet" of the administration. He instructed each committee to provide a list of at least five trained volunteers to the local police station, ensure separate entry points for men and women, and appoint female police and volunteers. Strict action will be taken against those spreading rumors or inflammatory content on social media. The administration announced enhanced security arrangements including CCTV surveillance at key locations, drone monitoring, additional police deployment, and a special social media monitoring team. A traffic control plan has been prepared for congested routes, with designated parking zones near pandals. The Additional Municipal Commissioner assured that necessary action will be taken on the suggestions put forth by Puja committees. DC Bhajantri appealed to citizens to cooperate with the administration in maintaining peace, unity, and communal harmony during the festival.
