PG NEET 2025 Coimbatore district topper felicitated | Coimbatore News - The Times of India

COIMBATORE: Coimbatore district collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar and district revenue officer M Sharmila on Friday felicitated Dr G Barath Kumar who secured the all-India ninth rank in the PG NEET 2025. Barath is a resident of Annur.Speaking to TOI about his achievement, Dr Barath Kumar said, "NEET should not be considered a competition. If we take it as an opportunity to progress, it would be much easier to prepare. I secured a rank above 3000 in the UG NEET. I got placed under the govt quota.""In 2024, after the completion of the internship, I decided to pursue PG and gave my first attempt at PG NEET in August 2024. I secured the 6947th rank, which was not sufficient for medicine. In November, I appeared for the Institutes of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET), securing 1357th rank. Usually, the seats get filled with 100-200. It was only in the next six months that I dedicated time to prepare."He added, "It would be much better if a govt-run coaching centres also offer PG coaching facilities. This will benefit many economically backward students who can pursue specialisations and not stop with UG."Speaking about Dr Barath Kumar's achievement, collector Giriyappanavar told TOI on Saturday: "This is a proud moment for the district. Moving further, we shall motivate more students to pursue PG and shall provide free PG NEET coaching to them."
