Gurgaon: A day after a clash broke out between two groups of Rajasthan and Haryana over a parking dispute in Mundaka of Ferozepur Jhirka at the Nuh-Rajasthan border, Nuh police arrested five Rajasthan residents. The two groups belonging to two communities exchanged heated arguments and pelted stones at each other, besides torching a bike and a shop in Nuh. Nuh SP Rajesh Kumar said there was no communal angle to the clash and confirmed that it was a parking dispute between two men, including the complainant and a resident of Rajasthan's Hajipur village, who called their accomplices. According to the police, the man from Rajasthan parked his car in the middle of the road at the Nuh-Rajasthan border and when the complainant asked him to move it to the side, a violent confrontation took place in which the latter was reportedly hit with a beer bottle. Four people sustained major injuries in the clash and were undergoing treatment and several others sustained minor injuries, a police official said. Those arrested were identified as Lukman, Zubair, Umardin, Sakurulla Khan and Rustam -- all from Alwar, and booked under sections 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), 126 (wrongful restraint), 190 (liability of members of an unlawful assembly for offences committed in prosecution of their common object), 191(3) (rioting), 324(4) (mischief), 326(f) (causing damage to property, including agricultural produce, using fire or an explosive substance), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS at Ferozepur Jhirka police station. Nuh police spokesperson ASI Krishna stated that three separate teams were conducting raids to arrest the remaining suspects. "For security reasons, two police units have been deployed at the incident site. SP Rajesh Kumar himself is monitoring the situation along with other senior officers. We will soon nab the remaining accused," he said, adding that a peace committee meeting was held on Wednesday under the leadership of Firozepur Jhirka SDM Lakshmi Narayan and DSP Ajaib Singh, which was attended by representatives and dignitaries from both communities. "The committee appealed to everyone to maintain mutual harmony and not to pay attention to rumours. Currently, the situation in the area is normal and all routine activities are going on smoothly. The police are keeping a close watch on social media platforms and are taking strict action against those spreading rumours. The police administration has issued a clear warning that strict legal action will be taken against those attempting to spread rumours or disrupt the peace," he added. Meanwhile, Vishram Kumar Meena, deputy commissioner of Nuh, also dismissed the communal angle. "It was just a parking dispute. The situation is under control. There was no communal angle to it. We have requested the residents of both states to maintain peace and immediately contact the authorities in case of any untoward incident," Meena said.
