Srinagar, Aug 13: The Indian Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Wednesday. However, one soldier was killed during the exchange of fire, officials said.The Army had neutralised two terrorists in the same sector just days earlier. According to an official statement, troops detected and engaged the infiltrators early in the morning, successfully preventing their bid to cross the LoC."While foiling the infiltration bid today, one Indian Army soldier lost his life. Search operations are still ongoing in the area," Army officials said.Reports suggest the infiltration attempt may have been supported by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT), involving a strike by terrorists near Tikka Post in Uri.The incident occurred in the Area of Responsibility (AOR) of 16 Sikh LI (09 Bihar Advance Party) and under the jurisdiction of Police Station Uri.As per Army officials, the attack resulted in the death of one soldier.
