Ferozepur/Amritsar: The Border Security Force (BSF) seized two pistols and heroin in two separate incidents near the international border in Ferozepur on Wednesday. According to information, residents of Bhakra village noticed a drone movement along the international border on Tuesday night. They informed the BSF, and during the search of the designated area on Wednesday morning, its security personnel recovered one big packet containing two pistols and three small packets of heroin (weighing 1.649 kg). The BSF said the big packet was wrapped in yellow adhesive tape with a metal ring attached, which indicated that the consignment was dropped by a drone from across the border. The matter has been reported to the police for their course of action.In related news, troops of the Border Security Force (BSF), in a joint operation with Punjab Police, recovered a drone carrying heroin near the India-Pakistan border in Tarn Taran district. According to a BSF spokesperson, acting on specific intelligence inputs, BSF personnel launched a search operation and successfully recovered a DJI Air 3S drone, along with a packet containing 600 grams of heroin, from an agricultural field near the village of Vaan. Preliminary investigations suggest that the contraband was being smuggled from Pakistan. The BSF was able to intercept the drone's signal, causing it to crash before it could deliver the payload.
Imphal: In a series of coordinated operations, the Indian Army and other law enforcement agencies arrested 13 cadres from hill and valley-based underground groups in Manipur and recovered 23 weapons, grenades, ammunition, and other war-like stores.
