MANGALURU: Several persons sustained injuries after the private bus they were travelling in crashed into the compound wall of the KSRTC bus stand in Vittal on Saturday.Veena D'Souza, 42, a resident of Kanyana in Bantwal, stated that the accident took place when she was travelling with other passengers on a private bus. The bus was operating on the interstate route between Kalladka and Kanhangad. As it was heading toward Kanyana from the Vittal private bus stand, near the Vittal KSRTC bus stand in Vittal Kasaba village, Bantwal Taluk, bus driver, identified as Rajesh D'Souza, allegedly negligently drove the vehicle.Due to the driver's loss of control, the bus crashed into the compound wall of the KSRTC bus stand, causing injuries to the complainant. She initially received treatment at the Vittal Govt Hospital and was later admitted to a hospital in Puttur for further treatment. Nine other passengers on the bus were also injured and were referred to Vittal Govt Hospital for treatment. The driver and the bus conductor, Ravi, also sustained minor injuries. A case was registered at the Vittal Police Station under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the BNS.
