Hyderabad, July 19 (UNI) The Rs 521 croe Mega Railway Manufacturing Unit at Kazipet near here is being developed with modern, state-of-the-art technology, to be completed by the end of the year 2026, said Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw. Ashwini along with Union Coal Minister Gishan Reddy who visited the Railway Manufacturing Unit at Kazipet here today, informed that the civil construction works at the manufacturing unit will be completed by December, 2025, while the entire project is expected to be completed by the end of the year 2026. The Union Minister stated that the manufacturing unit has high potential and has been designed flexibly to manufacture coaches, engines and metro trains. Ashwini stated that he is happy with the progress of work at the manufacturing unit. India will soon become a huge Railway Manufacturing and Railway Exporting country, he added. Speaking on the occasion, Kishan Reddy, thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini for fulfilling the long cherished dream of the people of Telangana state. He said that the upcoming Railway Manufacturing Unit at Kazipet will be equipped with latest technology and will not only manufacture coaches but also engines. He stated that around 3,000 people will get employment directly and indirectly through this project. Further, he stated that 40 Railway stations in Telangana state are being redeveloped under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), out of which, three stations including Warangal Amrit station were recently inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
