Mandya: A pilot vehicle escorting deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar overturned near TM Hosur at Gowdahalli in Srirangapatna taluk in Mandya on National Highway 275 on Friday.The incident occurred when the escort vehicle, reportedly speeding, skidded on stagnant rainwater and hit the road divider before toppling. The mishap took place within Srirangapatna limits of Mandya district. Four personnel travelling in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and were shifted to a hospital in Mysuru.Shivakumar, returning to Bengaluru after attending the Sadhana Samavesha event in Mysuru, was following the escort vehicle in his official car. Soon after the accident, he got down from his vehicle, took care of the injured escorts, and after shifting them to the hospital, he proceeded to Bengaluru.SP Mallikarjun Baladandi said, "The pilot vehicle skidded due to stagnant rainwater on the highway and later hit the median as the driver lost control of the vehicle. The jeep overturned later. Four people in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and were treated as outpatients.
