Thane: A horrifying incident of alleged sexual assault and murder unfolded at Diva railway station on Friday morning when a woman was pushed under a moving goods train after she resisted a molestation attempt. According to officials from Thane Railway Police, the accused, identified as 39-year-old Rajan Singh, has been arrested. Details On The Shocking Incident The crime came to light when railway cleaning staff were working on platforms 7 and 8 early Friday morning. They reportedly heard shouting from platforms 5 and 6 and noticed a man and woman involved in a heated altercation. According to a Loksatta report quoting eyewitnesses, the man was seen grabbing the woman forcefully by the neck with both hands. The woman struggled to free herself, attempting to resist his advances. In a shocking escalation, the man allegedly pushed the woman onto the railway tracks just as a goods train was passing through. She was crushed under the moving train and died on the spot. After the incident, the accused began walking along the tracks, attempting to flee the scene. Railway police personnel stationed at Diva immediately responded after being informed of the incident. They detained the suspect and questioned him on the spot. During interrogation, the man identified himself as Rajan Singh, a resident of Diva.
