Kota: A 55-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances at the house of his female acquaintance in Balajinagar Colony under Baran City police station late Thursday night. The deceased, identified as Anuj alias Annu Singoria, a clerk at the Baran district court and resident of Baran City, was reportedly thrashed before his death, prompting police to register a case of murder.According to Baran City police, Anuj had gone to the house of Rajesh Meena (35), his acquaintance. Around 10:30 pm, Meena informed Anuj's family that his health had deteriorated. The family rushed to the spot and took him to the district govt hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.Based on injuries on the body and allegations by Anuj's family, police filed a case of murder against Rajesh Meena. "The body bore signs of assault. However, the cause of death will be confirmed only after the post-mortem report," said circle inspector Yogesh Chuohan.A medical board conducted the post-mortem on Friday morning, and the body was handed over to the family. Baran district SP Raj Kumar Choudhary and other senior officials visited the scene, and an FSL team collected evidence for further investigation.The deceased's relatives have alleged a conspiracy behind the death, intensifying suspicion around the woman's role.
