New Delhi: In a significant change to the Central Vista redevelopment project, the Union government has decided to integrate the upcoming Common Central Secretariat (CCS) buildings, North Block, and other important structures with the Delhi Metro network. The move replaces an earlier plan to connect these buildings via moving walkways, a proposal that has now been discarded. A senior official from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs confirmed on Tuesday that the revision was made to avoid unnecessary public expenditure on specialised infrastructure.
