Bengaluru, India - A damning report released on thursday has shed light on the critical failures that led to a devastating stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on June 4, resulting in the deaths of eleven fans and injuring over fifty.The tragedy unfolded as hundreds of thousands of ecstatic supporters thronged the streets to celebrate their beloved Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team's victory, led by star player Virat Kohli. The report, made public by authorities, states that the celebrations, which turned deadly, proceeded without the necesary formal approval. organisers reportedly failed to submit a "formal request" or provide adequate details to secure permission for the victory parade. Consequently,the report explicitly states,"the permission was not granted." Despite the police rejecting RCB's request for the parade, the team and organisers proceeded wiht the event. this decision, the report suggests, was a meaningful contributing factor to the chaos that ensued. In the days following the stampede, four individuals were detained by police in connection with the incident. Among those detained were a senior executive from RCB, representatives from event organisers DNA, and officials from the Karnataka State Cricket Association. The tragic stampede occurred as players were parading the trophy near the stadium, just a day after their triumphant victory over Punjab Kings in the IPL final held in Ahmedabad. The victims, tragically, were all young, with ages ranging from 14 to 29. the incident sent shockwaves across the nation.
