Bengaluru: Two days after the murder of rowdy Shiva Prakash alias Bikkalu Shiva, his mother Vijayalaxmi did a U-turn by stating that she did not take the names of suspects, including KR Pura MLA BA Basavaraj in her complaint. "Police wrote the complaint while I was on a call. They were mentioning a few names, and I may have just nodded my head. I'm not sure what I told police in panic. I remember these names as they were mentioned by my son before his death," she told the media.Shiva was hacked to death by a six-member gang Tuesday night when he was standing at a hotel near his house near Ulsoor lake. In the complaint, the mother had alleged he was killed in the backdrop of a property issue in Kithaganur village and MLA Basavaraj was also named as the fifth accused. Basavaraj, when contacted earlier, had denied his involvement. Police, however, issued a notice to him with a directive to appear before the investigative officer in two days. Meanwhile, police arrested five suspects and produced them before the court which remanded him in police custody for 10 days. The arrested are Kiran K, Vimal Raj, Samuel, Madan, and Pradeep. Police are on the lookout for the prime accused, Jagadish alias Jagga, as he had a rivalry with Shiva.
