Bhubaneswar, Dec 10 (UNI) About 7,500 delegates are expected to attend the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, to be held for the first time in Bhubaneswar from January 8 to 10 to showcase Odisha's rich historical heritage, art, sculpture, music, dance, tribal culture, language, literature, and tourist attractions on the global stage. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi who reviewed the preparations for the event on Monday night stated that the state government is fully prepared to make it a grand and successful celebration. Speaking on the occasion, Majhi noted that the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, which began in 2003, is being hosted in Odisha for the first time. He described this as a golden opportunity to showcase Odisha on the global stage. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has attached great significance to this event and has urged for its organization to be flawless and attractive, further enhancing Odisha's global reputation. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness in Bhubaneswar, insisting that the city's cleanliness should meet international standards. A special cleanliness campaign has been proposed to achieve this goal. The review meeting highlighted that the External Affairs Minister will attend the event on January 8, the Prime Minister on January 9, and the President on January 10. The program will feature plenary sessions on topics such as "Unraveling India's Best Kept Secret" and "Odisha - The Land of Opportunities."
