Pune: Rainfall activity increased in many parts of the state, including the ghat and city areas of Pune, with Tamhini Ghat registering 190mm of rain and Shirgaon 112mm in the 24-hour period ending 8.30am on Tuesday.India Meteorological Department (IMD) data showed that Kuruvande received 96.5mm of rain during the period, followed by Lonavla (90 mm) and Bhor (56.5 mm). Among the key locations in the city which witnessed increased rainfall activity, Shivajinagar registered 6.9mm of rainfall, Lohegaon 8.8mm, Chinchwad 8mm, Pashan 5.4mm, Lavale 12mm and Magarpatta 0.5 mm.The Met department also recorded heavy rainfall in parts of Nashik, Dhule, Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Satara, Kolhapur, and Sindhudurg. More rainfall is expected in the city with IMD forecasting generally cloudy skies with light rain on Wednesday.The IMD data showed several districts in Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Vidarbha logged light rainfall on Tuesday.
