Bhubaneswar: The tragic death of a 20-year-old college student in Balasore, who succumbed to burn injuries after setting herself on fire to protest alleged sexual harassment, has triggered a wave of grief, anger, and soul-searching across the state. People from all walks of life -- students, professionals, activists, and ordinary citizens -- have taken to social media to mourn her death and demand stronger grievance redressal systems in educational institutions."I don't know why we don't have a stronger law in place to punish these molesters and rapists. Intellectuals are in abundance in our administration at the Centre and states and globally. Can't we make a law in this time and era? Women are targets every day, there is a creepy vibe every day around. We're living with it, growing around it. All we need is a stringent law.
