Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 15 (PTI) Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan congratulated Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla on his return to Earth after a 20-day sojourn in space and said he created history by becoming the first Indian to reach the International Space Station (ISS). The Dragon 'Grace' spacecraft carrying Shukla and three other astronauts made a splashdown off San Diego coast in southern California on Tuesday. Vijayan, in a Facebook post, said that Shukla returned to Earth after spending three weeks on the Axiom space mission. The CM said that Shukla was also the first Indian to reach space after four decades and hoped that this proud achievement for the country will inject new energy into the nation's space research.
