HYDERABAD: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy will meet Union jal shakti minister CR Patil in Delhi on Wednesday, to press for immediate approvals and financial assistance for Telangana's pending projects on the Krishna river, and to assert the state's rightful share of water.Sources said the Union ministry has invited both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh chief ministers for talks on inter-state river water disputes. While it's unclear whether Revanth and N Chandrababu Naidu will meet the Union minister jointly or separately, Naidu is scheduled to reach Delhi on Tuesday and meet Union home minister Amit Shah, among others.According to the Telangana CMO, Revanth already directed irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy to work on long-term solutions to protect Telangana's interests in both the Krishna and Godavari basins. Uttam also wrote to Patil on Monday, urging resolution of the long-standing water-sharing dispute.The Telangana delegation will seek fast-tracked clearances and funding for all pending Krishna projects. Officials said the state will make a strong case at the Apex Council-level meeting.Telangana will also demand its rightful share of water from the Godavari, stating it will utilise every drop allocated.
