Mumbai: Tesla has launched its operations in India with the opening of its first showroom in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex, featuring the Model Y and Model 3. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended the inauguration of the 4,000 sq ft showroom, which carries a monthly rental of Rs. 35 lakh. The experience centre is strategically located near the Apple flagship store, and a grand inaugural event is anticipated following this soft launch. Customers interested in the Model Y or Model 3 will need to visit the Mumbai showroom to place orders. Tesla has imported the vehicles fully assembled from China, incurring significant taxes of around 70%.
