New Delhi, Jul 14 (PTI) Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday held a review meeting with cabinet colleagues and officials on the Master Plan for Delhi 2041. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) presented key features of the draft, which outlines the capital's urban development roadmap, officials said. "Departments like the MCD and DDA have been asked to submit their feedback and suggestions. There might be discussions based on what they suggest. It is not immediately clear whether the government will send recommendations to the Centre on it," an official said. The DDA had submitted the draft plan to the Centre in April 2023. However, it is yet to be approved by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, in a post on X, said the crucial meeting was attended by the chief minister and other ministers. He said the Master Plan 2041 is not just a plan on paper but a roadmap for the coming decades of Delhi -- a vision that maintains a balance between population, infrastructure, environment and employment. At a meeting held on 28 February 2023, Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena, who is also the DDA chairman, approved the draft MPD-2041. He said the plan's thrust was on inclusive development, sustainability, and innovative interventions -- including transit-oriented development hubs, land pooling, heritage and Yamuna rejuvenation, and regeneration of the city. The first MPD was promulgated in 1962 under the Delhi Development Act, 1957.
