Dibrugarh: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday conducted an extensive visit to flood-affected areas of Golaghat, where over 8,000 people continue to grapple with the aftermath of severe flooding caused by the overflowing Dhansiri river.Triggered by torrential rains in neighbouring Nagaland, the devastating floods have led to the displacement of thousands of residents, who are currently taking shelter in relief camps."The govt stands with the flood-affected people in this hour of crisis. We have mobilised additional resources, including emergency response teams and medical personnel, to support the ongoing relief operations. We will ensure that all affected families receive immediate relief and support," Sarma said.Visiting Mitham Chapori, one of the worst-affected areas, Sarma witnessed the extensive damage caused by the floodwaters.
