Immersed In Devotion: Guru Purnima Evokes Spiritual Fervour | Nagpur News - Times of India

Nagpur: The spirit of reverence towards gurus and spiritual mentors swept the city on Thursday as people celebrated Guru Purnima with heartfelt devotion, music, rituals, and personal gestures of gratitude. From temples and mutts buzzing with thousands of devotees to youngsters sending messages of thanks to their teachers, the day exuded a vibrant mood of spiritual connection. At the historic Sai Mandir on Wardha Road, the celebrations, which began on Wednesday, continued with grandeur. Thursday witnessed a mass feast at 12.30pm, followed by an enthralling devotional musical concert by Vidya Borkar's Swar Smarani Group, filling the temple premises with divine melodies. The temple remains abuzz for the concluding festivities on Friday, featuring Gopal Kala and Dahi Handi Kirtan. Meanwhile, Ramkrishna Math resonated with spiritual chants as devotees gathered from as early as 5am. The day was packed with Ved Path, Ramkrishna Sankirtan, spiritual discourses, prasad distribution, and Sandhya Aarti, creating an atmosphere steeped in devotion. Other spiritual hubs like the Swami Samarth Mandir on Besa Road and Swami Samarth Mutt in Malviya Nagar also witnessed significant crowds.
