Chennai: Exulting over the DMK's recently launched 'Oraniyil Tamil Nadu' (the State in a single team) enrollment drive picking up momentum, Chief Minister and DMK president M K Stalin said that the numbers had crossed 50 lakh, pointing to an electoral triumph. In a message on X on Thursday, Stalin said that he also joined the campaigners at Tiruvarur, where he is now to attend official engagements, and canvassed for membership at Sannidhi Street, where his father M Karunanidhi lived once upon and time and found the response tremendous. The massive State-wide campaign undertaken with enthusiasm had led to the enrolment of 54,319 members and the embracement of 30,975 families into the party fold in Tiruchuzhi Assembly constituency, which was now on the lead, he said. Congratulating the district secretary Thangam Thenarasu and the other office bearers for the achievement, he wished other district level functionaries taking up the challenge to beat Thiruchuzhi in the race.
