Mumbai hospital doctor who jumped off Atal Setu untraceable after 48-hour search operation | Mumbai News - Times of India

Navi Mumbai: The missing doctor Omkar Kavitake (32) practising at JJ hospital in Mumbai, who had reportedly jumped into the sea from Atal Setu on late Monday night, is untraceable as the frantic search operation was stopped on Wednesday after sunset and will be resumed on Thursday morning, informed the police.Arjun Rajne, senior inspector of Ulwe said, "The search operation using police patrolling boat was continued from 7 am onwards on Wed. The areas along the creek from NRI coastal area till Uran creek was searched throughout the day, but to no avail. A police team on a patrolling boat also searched in the sea near Elephanta caves (Gharapuri Island) till the sunset and has been anchored there for resuming the search operation on Thursday morning."A police officer said that, as the recovered mobile phone of Dr Kavitake has not been unlocked yet, the WhatsApp and text messages could not be accessed. The messages might give some lead to the reason why Dr Kavitake took the drastic step. He has not left any note before jumping off the sea bridge.
