In an emotional live session on July 8, 2025, Dipika addressed her fans for the first time since undergoing a 14-hour-long surgery for stage 2 liver cancer and revealed details about her health, recovery and future plans. The actress, who is married to fellow TV star Shoaib Ibrahim, was diagnosed with a tennis-ball-sized tumour in her liver in May. She underwent a complicated surgery in June, during which doctors removed her gall bladder along with a portion of her liver. Dipika was under hospital observation for several days following the procedure. Now back home and recuperating, Dipika explained her absence from YouTube. "Main joh ek jagah tikk ke baith nahi paati thi, yahan wahan ghoomte rehna, kuch na kuch khurafat karte rehte (I was not able to sit in one place, I used to roam here and there, keep doing some mischief or the other)," she shared with a smile. She added, "And suddenly I've nothing to do. Of course, the doctor has advised me to keep moving my body. But there are days when I feel I just need to rest and do nothing." Updating fans on her health, Dipika confirmed her stitches are healing well and she will begin a new form of treatment next week. "There is something as Target therapy which I'll start from next week. During oral Target therapy, I'll have to take a tablet," she said. Despite the physical challenges, Dipika shared a silver lining that she has returned to her first love: writing. "I started writing since the time Shoaib came into my life.
