Schools to reopen with changed timings

Srinagar, July 7: The School Education Department (SED) today ordered the resumption of classes across schools in Kashmir after the summer break, but with changes in timings. The resumption not only involves altered school hours but also the introduction of online classes after school hours, a move that has drawn criticism from parents. Follow the Daily Excelsior channel on WhatsApp As per the order issued here, schools within municipal limits will operate from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, while schools outside municipal limits will function from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Additionally, online classes-referred to as a blended learning mode-for students from Classes 6 to 12 will be held after regular school hours. These sessions will run from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM in municipal areas and from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM in non-municipal areas, according to the directive. However, the changes have not been well received by the general public, especially parents, who have called the new schedule "hectic" and demanded an immediate review.
