Queen Camilla health update: While King Charles and Princess Kate of the British royal family make recovery after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, it seems Queen Camilla is now feeling under the weather. The 77-year-old monarch, who is the 'queen consort' of the United Kingdom, has had to cancel some major appearances and engagements scheduled to happen this week because of a nagging respiratory issue that has taken a huge toll on her health. She has apparently been advised to rest completely while making recovery. The king and queen were scheduled to meet the Emir of Qatar today, for which a ceremonial welcome had been planned. The queen, naturally, will miss it now, as she is suffering from a lingering chest infection. According to news reports, a Buckingham Palace source has said that the reason Camilla will miss some key aspects of the Qatari state visit this week is because she had been suffering from a viral chest infection in the recent weeks that is continuing to affect her health with its lingering effects, leaving the monarch with 'significantly diminished reserves of energy'. Otherwise, she was scheduled to welcome the Emir of Qatar and his wife in the UK on Tuesday, along with her husband Charles. It seems that now Charles, along with the Prince and Princess of Wales -- Prince William and Kate Middleton -- will give the dignitaries from Qatar a traditional formal welcome for the official state visit. According to reports, William and Kate will meet Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani in London, from where they will take them to the 'parade ground' where Charles and other senior government figures will give them the official ceremonial welcome. Interestingly, this will be Kate's first state visit since her cancer diagnosis earlier this year. She completed her chemotherapy in September, and is now gradually returning to her official duties. Camilla, meanwhile, has been advised by doctors to 'rest and recover fully' from the viral infection that she is believed to have contracted a month ago while touring Australia and Samoa.
