We have to mention that in terms of specifications, the Tata EV has an edge over the Mahindra SUV EV as it is powered by two motors. Tata Harrier EV vs Mahindra XUV 9e: Specifications The Harrier EV is available in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions and comes in two battery options -- 65 kWh and 75 kWh. The former is powered by a 235 bhp rear-mounted motor with 315 Nm of torque. The AWD model, or as Tata Motors calls it, the QWD, has a 156 bhp front motor and 235 bhp rear motor with a total torque of 504 Nm. Tata Motors claims that the 65 kWh and the 75 kWh batteries offer a range of 538 km and 627 km, respectively, while the AWD returns 622 km based on the MIDC Part 1 + Part 2 Cycle. It starts from Rs 21.49 lakh to Rs 28 lakh, while the AWD model is available in two trims and costs Rs 29 lakh and Rs 29.50 lakh, ex-showroom, respectively. The XEV 9e is also available in two battery packs -- a 59 kWh and a 79 kWh. Currently, the XEV 9e is only available in rear-wheel drive with a single motor. The 59 kWh version churns out 228 bhp while the bigger 79 kWh produces 281 bhp, with both having the same 380 Nm of torque. According to Mahindra, the 59 kWh battery offers a driving range of 542 km and the 79 kWh returns 656 km. The XEV 9e is priced from Rs 22.65 lakh to Rs 31.25 lakh, ex-showroom.
The XEV 9e on the other hand, gets a triple screen layout with more futuristic elements. The XEV 9e will also have a touch-based control panel, again similar to what we've seen in Tata Motors cars.
