Ramban, Jul 5: At least three dozen Amarnath Yatris, including 27 from Madhya Pradesh (MP), sustained minor injuries on Saturday morning when the last bus in a Pahalgam-bound convoy collided with four other buses near the Langar site at Chanderkote on National Highway-44. Official sources said the last vehicle of the Pahalgam convoy lost control and hit stranded vehicles at the Chanderkot Langer site, damaging four other vehicles and causing minor injuries to 36 Yatris. Police sources said a Bus bearing registration number MP10ZF- 7999 carrying Pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SAJY), bound for Pahalgam, lost control and rammed on the other Yatri Buses parked at designated halting point at Chanderkote for having Breakfast. During the incident, the five buses carrying pilgrims suffered damages. An official said that among the 36 injured pilgrims, 27 are from Madhya Pradesh, two from Gujarat, three from Uttar Pradesh, and one each from Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan. "All the injured were rushed to District Hospital (DH) Ramban by the rescue teams of Police, CRPF and senior officers of Civil and Police administration already stationed at Chanderkote," the official said. The official said initially mobile medical teams of CRPF and Health Department provided medical aid at the accident spot. "Later all the injured were shifted to District Hospital Ramban," the official said. Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan, DIG DKR Shridhar Patil, SSP Ramban Kulbir Singh, Commandant 84 Battalion CRPF, N Ranbir Singh and ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak immediately visited to the hospital to monitor the treatment, and directed the CMO to ensure the best possible care. Medical Superintendent District Hospital Ramban Dr, Sudershan Singh said that all the injured had received minor injuries and were discharged after providing medical aid. The Yatris were later shifted to other vehicles arranged by the District Administration Ramban for their onward journey to Pahalgam. Senior Superintendent of Police Ramban, Kulbir Singh confirmed that all the Yatries who sustained injuries safely reached Yatra base camp Pahalgam for their onward journey to holy cave shrine.
