Agartala, July 5 (UNI) The Tripura School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework (SQAAF) has been launched in Tripura to enable children on a contemporary level with the children of other parts of the country. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, who also holds the education portfolio, said on Saturday that through SQAAF, the standards of education of each school can be assessed, and recognition given accordingly. "The teachers in schools will no longer be limited to the traditional way of teaching. They will have to teach various important subjects beyond the specific syllabus," he said. "As our PM said, it is not enough to just read textbooks. Values, development, and the idea of nation-building must be infused among children. The SQAAF children will be enabled to upgrade their knowledge and compete with other parts of the country," Dr Saha said. He stated that education plays a special role in improving the quality of socio-economic life besides enhancing one's knowledge, and underlined, "Many children are good at studies but fail to succeed in life. Therefore, it is necessary to be involved in sports, social work, and other activities and it is the responsibility of teachers to develop students into good human beings." The National Education Policy 2020 has been launched to give momentum to the education system. If there is a uniform curriculum everywhere, students do not face any problems. If there is a uniform question paper, children from any region can also compete centrally and SQAAF is to facilitate the process, Dr Saha added. UNI BB PRS
