Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday asked why documents issued by the government such as Aadhaar card, ration card, MNREGA job card, and others were not accepted in the special intensive revision of the electoral rolls, even if they proved one's identity or residence. Tejashwi led a delegation of opposition parties that met Bihar chief electoral officer, and raised various issues related to SIR before him. Tejashwi asked, "Does the Election Commission have the right to consider only 11 documents to add names to the voter list under the Bihar special intensive voter revision programme 2025? What is its constitutional and legal basis?" Tejashwi said that while issuing the Aadhaar card, many documents of identity and residence including one's iris, fingerprints were recorded, and so why the EC was excluding it now.
