Mumbai: The state is expected to receive heavy rainfall over the weekend as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued warning for increased rainfall activity from July 5 to 8. "Widespread rainfall activity with Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall at a few places is very likely over Konkan and ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during the period," the warning said. Following this, several districts are places under Orange Alert for heavy to very heavy rains, including the ghats region, Thane, Palghar, Raigad and Ratnagiri.
