Kalaburagi (Karnataka), July 4 (UNI) "People who should be receiving treatment in hospitals or institutions like NIMHANS are being placed in panchayats and councils," Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge said today, launching a blistering attack on BJP MLC and Opposition Chief Whip N Ravikumar for his controversial remarks against chief secretary Dr Shalini Rajneesh. Speaking to the media here, Kharge said such behaviour was not new, but part of a long pattern of misogynistic and regressive conduct encouraged by the ideological training of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), to which Ravi Kumar is affiliated. "He is not just any individual. He is a trained RSS worker. The RSS does not believe in the Constitution. Their belief lies in Manusmriti. And we all know what place Manusmriti gives to women," Kharge said, referring to the ancient Hindu text. He added, "This is not the first time Ravikumar has spoken in this manner. Earlier too, he made baseless accusations -- like alleging we were protecting Kalburgi's killers.
