New Delhi: Diljit Dosanjh will continue to be a part of the upcoming war drama 'Border 2', despite the uproar surrounding his collaboration with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in 'Sardaar Ji 3'. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), which had earlier imposed a non-cooperation order on Diljit, has now temporarily revoked the restriction, but only for this specific project. BN Tiwari, President of FWICE, confirmed the development to India Today, stating that producer Bhushan Kumar personally appealed to the federation to allow Dosanjh to continue shooting for 'Border 2'. "Yes, the ban has been revoked for this project," Tiwari said, indicating that the actor has been given the green light for this one film. However, the relief is far from permanent. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who is associated with FWICE, clarified that the non-cooperation against Dosanjh will remain active for any future projects. "So, we have non-cooperation against Diljit continuing. Anyone else who casts him must be prepared for consequences. The Federation won't be responsible for the financial losses that might follow," he stated. This update came shortly after Diljit took to Instagram to silence rumours of his replacement in 'Border 2' by sharing a behind-the-scenes video from the film's set. In the video, the singer-actor is seen in uniform stepping out of his vanity van and walking toward the set to prepare for a dance sequence. Captioning it simply "BORDER 2," the post served as a strong signal that he's very much part of the cast. The controversy erupted when Diljit starred opposite Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in 'Sardaar Ji 3', which released internationally on June 27 but skipped a domestic release in India. The backlash intensified following recent cross-border tensions, particularly the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and India's subsequent Operation Sindoor in May. FWICE had earlier sent a letter to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah, urging them to revoke permissions granted to the 'Border 2' production team for shooting at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune.
