Varanasi: Court of Special Judge (Gangster Act) on Thursday dismissed petition of former MP Dhananjay Singh to summon Gosaiganj MLA Abhay Singh as Gangster Act accused in 2002 case of attack on him. Abhay's advocates, Dinanath Singh and Varun Pratap Singh, said Special Judge (Gangster Act), Sarvjeet Kumar Singh, dismissed Dhananjay's petition seeking to summon Abhay as accused in a 2002 Gangster Act case. The court scheduled next date for arguments on Jul 8. On Oct 4, 2002, former MP and then BSP MLA from Rari assembly seat in Jaunpur, Dhananjay Singh, was returning to Jaunpur with his associates in an SUV after visiting a patient. They were passing through the Nadesar area under Cantt police station when Abhay Singh and his accomplices allegedly fired at Dhananjay's vehicle.
