Jaipur/Ajmer: Heavy rainfall disrupted normal life across several districts of Rajasthan, including Bhilwara, Beawar, and Pali, with five rain-related deaths reported since Wednesday. The fatalities include three children in Beawar and two adults in Bhilwara.According to police, a 55-year-old labourer was swept away while crossing a culvert on the Banas River near Chohli village in Bhilwara's Kachola police station area. SDRF teams are still searching for his body. In another incident, a sanitation worker, Shiv Charan, was swept away in a flooded drain in Bhilwara city's Shastri Nagar area around 9.30 pm. His body was recovered at 12.30 am on Thursday.In Beawar's Kanuja area, three children -- Jitendra Singh (13), Khushi (14), and Rahul Singh (12) -- drowned in a pond. "One of them slipped into the pond, and the other two drowned while trying to save him," said Beawar SP Shyam Singh. All three were goat herders.Bassi in Chittorgarh received 320 mm of rainfall, the highest in the state. It was followed by Raipur in Pali with 250 mm, Bhilwara with 200 mm, and Jaitaran in Pali with 190 mm. Gangrar (Chittorgarh) and Sojat (Pali) received 160 mm each, while Jawaja (Ajmer) saw 130 mm. Kotadi (Bhilwara) and Begun (Chittorgarh) recorded 120 mm, Ghatol (Banswara) 100 mm, Marwar Junction (Pali) 80 mm, and Asind (Bhilwara) 70 mm. Rainfall ranging from 60 mm to 10 mm was recorded at multiple other locations.Jaipur experienced cloudy skies and scattered showers, with humidity levels peaking at 94% due to the overcast conditions.The Met office has issued a forecast of continued heavy rainfall over the next few days in the Ajmer, Kota, and Bharatpur divisions. Some areas in eastern Rajasthan, including Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Udaipur, are expected to receive heavy rainfall, while parts of western Rajasthan may see light showers.
