Bhopal, July 3 (UNI) In a shocking incident, a man allegedly clubbed six puppies to death apparently as he was irritated by their barking and whining.The incident occurred in the Maharajpur area of Jabalpur. The police have registered an FIR against the accused, identified as Rajesh Dahiya, on the complaint lodged late last night by some pet lovers of the area.The pet lovers also informed the officials of the animal husbandry, and veterinary departments about the incident.A team of veterinarians reached the spot and recovered the bodies of the puppies.The postmortems carried out on them indicated death due to injuries sustained from heavy blows by an object.The police have registered a case against Rajesh Dahiya under sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act along with BNS sections. A search is on to arrest him.

Chennai: In a major push to tackle rabies and track dog ownership, the Greater Chennai Corporation has microchipped over 12,255 dogs, both domestic and stray, with QR code collars and embedded chips containing complete identification and vaccination details. Bengaluru: Three tiger cubs born at the Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP) on July 7 died within two days of birth, despite efforts by veterinarians to save them through hand-rearing.According to BBP officials, the cubs were born to tigress Hima Das, who gave her third litter on July 7.
