Mumbai: Days after resigning from his post as the G20 Sherpa, retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Amitabh Kant joined IndiGo as a non-executive director. The airline with the largest market share in India will aim to benefit from Kant's rich administrative experience on national and global level. On Thursday, IndiGo announced the appointment of Kant, a 1980-batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, as a aon-executive director on the board of directors of InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. He had resigned from his post as India's Sherpa to prime minister Narendra Modi during the G20 presidency on June 16. Kant was also the chief executive officer of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) for a period of six years, served as a director on the board of the National Highways Authority of India and the member of India's National Statistical Commission.
