NEW DELHI: A political and linguistic controversy has erupted in Maharashtra after a viral video showed a shop owner being assaulted in Mira Road for allegedly refusing to speak in Marathi. The incident has sparked sharp reactions, including from state Minister Yogesh Kadam who said, "In Maharashtra, you have to speak Marathi. If you don't know Marathi, your attitude shouldn't be that you won't speak Marathi... If anyone disrespects Marathi in Maharashtra, we will enforce our laws."
