Pune: The rural police on Wednesday released the sketch of one of the two suspects wanted for an armed robbery and sexual assault on a 17-year-old girl at Swami Chincholi village near Bhigwan, around 100km from the city on the highway to Solapur.The incident occurred around 4.15am on June 30. At the time, seven members of two families, including two senior citizens, a woman, two 17-year-old girls and two 17-year-old boys, were going to Pandharpur from Junnar in a van. On the way, the van driver felt drowsy and stopped the vehicle in front of a tea stall at an isolated spot.Thereafter, two men on a bike stopped their two-wheeler close to the van. They were armed with a billhook and threatened the occupants of the van before robbing the women of the ornaments and sexually assaulting one of the 17-year-old girls."We prepared the sketch of one of the suspects and our team is refining the sketch as of now," said superintendent of police (Pune rural) Sandeep Singh Gill, adding, "We formed 10 teams that are searching for the suspects in the Daund, Indapur, Baramati, Ahilyanagar, and Solapur districts."
