Chennai: A 24-year-old woman in Chennai's Ponneri died allegedly by suicide due to dowry harassment by her husband and in-laws on June 30, mere three days after her wedding, the police said. The woman was visiting her parents at their home when she locked herself in the bathroom and took the extreme step. Sources told Times Now that the woman's in-laws had received one sovereign gold less than promised.
