Chinnaswamy Stampede Case: Central Administrative Tribunal Holds RCB Responsible For Tragedy, Says 'Suddenly Posted On Social Media'

Bengaluru: The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on Tuesday held Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) responsible for the June 4 stampede outside the Chinnaswamy cricket stadium. As per the tribunal, the RCB did not take the appropriate permission or consent from the police before making an announcement about the victory parade. "Prima facie, it appears that the RCB is responsible for the gathering of about three to five lakh people. The RCB did not take the appropriate permission or consent from the Police," the Bengaluru bench of the tribunal said as quoted by Hindustan Times. The bench comprises Justice BK Shrivastava and administrative member Santhosh Mehra. "Suddenly, they posted on social media platforms and as a result of aforesaid information, the public gathered," the tribunal added.
