Srinagar, Jul 1 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday said a special cell will be established to address the concerns of the families of terror victims and directed deputy commissioners and SSPs to reopen cases which were deliberately buried. The LG chaired a high-level meeting to discuss issues concerning victim families whose loved ones were killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists. "Special Cell to be established in LG Secretariat to address concerns of families. A similar cell to be set up in Chief Secretary's office. Every possible assistance would be provided to terror victim families & culprits roaming free for many decades will be brought to justice," Sinha said on X. "Directed DCs & SSPs to reopen cases which were deliberately buried & file an FIR and ensure jobs are provided to NoKs (next of kin) on priority," Sinha said. He said the deputy commissioners (DCs) and senior superintendents of police (SSPs) were also directed to free the property and land grabbed by terrorists or their sympathisers. "DCs and SSPs to free terror victim families' property & land grabbed by terrorists or their sympathisers. I've directed the officers to identify those elements from terror ecosystem who were involved in killing of common Kashmiris and currently working in govt departments," he added. Sinha on Sunday met some of the victim families here and assured them justice will be done in their cases. "Today met family members of Kashmiri Civilians who were brutally killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists. For decades, they were marginalised & their voices were not heard. Justice was denied. Their pain was ignored, their stories untold, and the truth deliberately suppressed," Sinha said on Sunday. He said hundreds of families have gained strength and support to say that their loved ones were killed by Pakistani terrorists. "It's shocking, before 2019 terrorists' funeral processions were allowed while thousands of common Kashmiris killed by terrorists, remained forgotten & unacknowledged," he said.
