A strange case has emerged from Khundian in Kangra district, where thieves stole three goats and fled. The matter eventually reached the police. Surinder Kumar, the head constable of Khundian Police, was investigating the case. According to the police, the accused were found in possession of three goats and one nanny goat. Station in-charge Ranjit Singh Parmar informed that two suspects have been arrested in this case. The accused are identified as Deepak Kumar (24) from Gajroda village, Balkarupi post office, Jaisinghpur and Gaurav Singh (23) from Uttarapur village, Jaisinghpur. Both accused were arrested on Sunday and presented in the Dehra court on Monday, where they were remanded to police custody for three days. On Tuesday, the accused were taken to the crime scene in Jhaula. During this visit, the police recovered a motorcycle used in the theft, a broken lock, an iron chisel, a hacksaw blade, a torch and an iron sickle used to commit the theft. During questioning, the accused admitted to stealing 7 to 8 goats in the Bhawarna and Lambagaon areas as well. The diligent efforts of the police helped solve this unusual case, shedding light on a concerning trend of livestock thefts in the area. In another incident, Police have arrested three persons, including a BJP youth wing secretary in Karur on charges of stealing goats in a car. Police recovered a goat and a car in September. The three in the police net were V Ranjithkumar, 35, P Sathishkumar, 25 and M Sivakumar, 22. Ranjithkumar is the union secretary of BJP's Kodaikanal youth wing. He is a resident of NGO Colony near Uzhavar Sandhai in Dindigul district, said Aravakuruchi police. Sathishkumar belongs to Kannivadi and Sivakumar is of Kasavanapatti, both in Athur taluk of Dindigul district. Police recovered a car with a TN registration the thieves were using. Earlier, the police received complaints from the residents of Thennilai, Paramathi and Aravakuruchi that a gang arrived in a car and stole 16 goats on the night of September 27.
