Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.4% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:09AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market. Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.07 per cent), MRF Ltd.(up 0.52 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.49 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 0.43 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.4 per cent) were among the top gainers. Bosch Ltd.(down 0.53 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 0.37 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 0.3 per cent) and Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) were the top losers on the index. The Nifty Auto index was up 0.4 per cent at 23968.3 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 32.55 points at 25549.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 110.38 points at 83716.84. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, RattanIndia Power, IDFC First Bank, Suzlon Energy and NMDC were among the most traded shares on the NSE. Shares of Gabriel India, TN Telecom, Innovana Thinklabs, Lloyds Steels(PP)and NACL Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Stampede Cap(DVR), Sadhana Nitro, Future Enterprises (DVR), Gayatri Highways and Kesoram Inds. hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
