The Ramanathapuram district Tahsildar S. Swaminathan has in a press note stated that 1,290 kgs of turmeric (used for cooking) would be sold in public auction on December 15 at the office of the Tahsildar. In a press statement, he said that the Mandapam Police had seized the goods on August 4 and it was not claimed by any person or individuals. As per the laws, such unclaimed property would be auctioned and interested people can visit the office and obtain more details. The auction would be held at 3 p.m. on December 15.
