Ganderbal, Jun 28: In order to ensure a smooth and peaceful observance of days of Muharram, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal visited several areas here to review the arrangements made. SSP Ganderbal conducted a visit to several Imambaras in Dab area of Ganderbal district to review the arrangements for the upcoming Muharram. The review included discussions on crowd control and traffic management during Muharram processions. During his visit, he interacted with local residents and listened to their grievances regarding the arrangements. Locals requested better security and infrastructure for the smooth observance of the days of Muharram. They emphasised the need for enhanced safety measures, especially during processions, and better coordination between authorities and community leaders. SSP Ganderbal also emphasised the importance of coordination with civil administration and stakeholders to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the Muharram gatherings. SSP said that police authorities, civil administration and religious bodies in coordination to ensure the smooth and dignified conduct of all related processions and events.
