Patna: Health minister Mangal Pandey on Saturday challenged RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav to an open debate on employment, asking him to present data on appointments made during his tenure as Bihar's health minister.Pandey accused Tejashwi of attempting to take credit for ongoing recruitment efforts carried out under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar. "Whatever positive work has been done today, the credit goes to Nitish," Pandey said while addressing reporters at a programme in Patna, where the CM handed over appointment letters to 21,391 newly recruited police constables.Tejashwi, who served as deputy chief minister during the 17-month Mahagathbandhan govt, claims that a record five lakh jobs were created during his tenure. He has repeatedly asserted that it was his pressure that compelled the CM to act on youth employment.Pandey, however, dismissed these claims and said major progress had taken place only under the present leadership.
