Ludhiana: Police arrested a woman and two juveniles in a sensational murder case after a body was found stuffed in a blue coloured drum. The accused were identified Faggu Prasad of Bharti Colony, 60, his wife Usha Devi, 52, her son, 23-year-old Neeraj Kumar, Siddu Kumar, 20, of Sherpur Kalan, and two juveniles aged 14 and 16 years.Police said that the killers, who were drunk, beat up Manoj a.k.a Raju, leaving him seriously injured and unconscious. He later succumbed to his injuries.Police said that the accused kept his body in their room for one night. The next morning, they tied it with a rope and stuffed it in a drum. Then they hauled the drum into an e-rickshaw and dumped it in an empty plot in Sherpur area.Additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) two, Karanveer Singh, said that after the body was found in the blue drum, police registered a murder case against unidentified accused. He added that during investigations, police got CCTV camera footage of a few individuals carrying a blue drum in an e-rickshaw.They said that the driver of the e-rickshaw, Rohit, shared the identity of the accused with the police. According to the police, the accused got the drum unloaded in an empty plot, with Rohit witnessing the proceedings. Police said that Faggu, Usha, and their son Neeraj live in rented rooms. They added that Usha helped tie up Manoj's body, whereas Faggu and two others helped dispose of it.Police said that investigations are on and the murder motive is yet to be ascertained. The accused will be produced in court, and their police remand will be sought for further questioning.Police said that Manoj and Neeraj, who knew each other, were drinking in the latter's room.
